Brakes And Suspension Tips

Brakes and suspension are most importante thing while you are driving...stunter on not... But when it comes to stunting, brakes are EVERYTHING, so its important to watch out for them and set them up the way you like it..

Discs

BIGGER DISC WONT GIVE YOU MORE METERS IN ROLLING ENDO! But it will make practicing hella easier and safer. Whats the catch? Most of the stock discs are rather small and are not floating. So while practicing endos, they got hot very fast and that kills brake performace. For practicing you need to have same conditions all the time to learn stuff quicker. Also with oversize you have better feeling when lifting scooter... Easier to sence where the balance is.
Floating discs have better grip on brake pads, cuz they slighty move left/right, so brake pads always press the disc on same time.

Brake pads

Harder pads will last longer, and they need more time to heat up. I personaly use EBC gold racing soft pads. Soft pads have MUCH better grip and you dont need to wait for their working temperature very long. They are more expensive and last shorter... But difference is HUGE. Expecialy if you have oversize disc.

Brake lines

Most of scooters came with rubber braking lines. And cuz stunting involves a lot of braking it's recommended to install STEEL braking lines. Why? Rubber braking lines in extreme conditions, when braking, strech a lot, making the brakes it self weaker. Steel lines, on the other side, are solid all the time. Big difference can be seen while stunting in hot weather.

Brake lever

Lots of stunting = Lots of crashes Smile

Every bike or scooter that is used for stunt has to have those sensitive parts secured so they dont brake all the time while crashin when learning new trick. Brake levers are often a problem cuz they bend or brake to much inside and are not usable anymore. Its recomended to install levers that have stock made cuts on them (look picture), so when u crash they brake on that place, and you still have enough lever to keep on riding. Other solution is to obtain levers that are shorter than steering so when you hit the ground they levers cant brake Wink

its good to have this thingz on competiton, in case you crash, so you dont need to give up.

Tyers

Golden Stunt Rule: FREE TYERS ARE THE BEST TYERS! Most stunters use old tyers that other people find bad... We dont care about that cuz we are anywayz gonna burn them Wink

But front tyre needs to have as best grip as possible, and its often hard to find such tyre for free (only if u steel Smile

or have a sponsor). Front tyer needs to be soft, cuz you dont wanna lose you front end while landing on high speed, and you need hella good grip when doing long stoppies. More faster you go when lifting a stoppie, better grip you need to prevent front wheel from locking.

Suspension

It's setup depends on drivers style...I use rear suspension on rather soft level... Its good for bumpy terain while wheeling on speed bumps or off road... Keeps the tension off cranck. My front setup is preety hard. When lifting into rolling endo i have better feeling if my front end doesnt dive to much. But mostly its about personal taste...
