Drum 2 disc
|
Even if lots of people already know this, there are still lots of questions about this thingy. So here are two examples on how did it done by StuntBase members...
Of course first you'll need parts to be able to do the conversion... Those are rather simple...
For example... If you have older Piaggio engine with rear drum... Use those parts from newer Piaggio engine...
If you have Aprilia SR 125/150 use parts from Italjet Dragster 125/180, or Gilera Runner SP/FXR 125/180.
You'll need:
Rear rim
Disc
Disc holder
Caliper
Rear brake pump
Brake line
When you remove your old drum brake, you'll see this two drum pads holder. One of them you can unscrew, and other one may need to be cut out....
Drill holes on most reinforced place on block that will be used to attach caliper holder.
Caliper holder is something that you will need to make on your own, if your engine block doesnt have one already.
And thats about it...
Now you need to install and airout brake lines, rim and caliper...
